AMERICAN HERITAGE GIRLS (Girls in Grades K-6) To work on the goal of giving practical confidence-building skills so they grow up to be women of integrity and natural leaders in their communities.
BASKETBALL CLUB (Grades 6-12) To teach basketball skills, instill a love for the game, and grow friendships while exercising in an environment that welcomes all skill levels.
DEBATE CLUB (Grades 7-8) To provide academic debate instruction, practice, and an intramural tournament as preparation for joining the HLS Debate Team.
DEBATE TEAM (Grades 9-12) To provide academic debate instruction, practice, and tournaments around the state competing against other schools.
HANDBELL CHOIR (Grades 7-12) To enjoy various styles of music practiced and played on handbells and other various instruments.
KNITTING CLUB (Grades 3-12) To preserve a historical art form while developing fine motor coordination, critical thinking, problem solving, focus and persistence.
RUNNING CLUB (Grades 3-12) To get students of all running abilities moving, building community and having fun! This was the first year for the HLS Running Club, with over 40 students, it was a wonderful addition and outlet for our students!
SERVICE CLUB (Grades 9-12) To present the students with opportunities to serve in and around their community and to develop leadership skills.
SHAKESPEARE CLUB (Grades 9-12) To offer students who have enjoyed reading Shakespeare the opportunity to experience performing. In addition to acting, students participate in directing, production and promotion, and marketing of the club’s plays.
VOLLEYBALL CLUB (Grades 4-12) Participants receive instruction to improve basic skills including passing, setting and serving. In addition to practicing these skills in drills and games, participants play in scrimmages each week. It’s a great way to learn volleyball skills and have fun with classmates.
YEARBOOK CLUB (Grades 7-12) To meet new friends while learning valuable skills such as photography, graphic design, writing, interviewing and marketing while putting together a book highlighting the year.
